Dr. G.V.N. Rama Kumar is a consultant Retinal Surgeon and Uvea Specialist with a special interest in managing neurophthalmological and complicated ocular disorders. He has as many as 6 medical degrees to his credit:

• Medical Graduate Degree(MBBS) from Kurnool Medical College, Kurnool, NTR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh, India in 2000
• MD (Ophthalmology) from Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS), New Delhi, India in 2005
• Research Fellow in the Department of VitreoRetina at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai between 2005 and 2006
• Fellowship Training in Vitreoretinal surgery between 2006 and 2008 at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai
• Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCS), United Kingdom in 2008
• Diplomate in National Board (DNB) conducted by National Board of Examinations, New Delhi
• Fellow of International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO)

He worked as independent Consultant – Retinal Surgeon from 2008-2010 at Choithram Nethralaya in Indore. He joined at Apex Retina Centre, Greater Kailash Hospital in March 2010. He is the first retinal surgeon in Central India who started doing exclusive posterior segment work.

He has presented papers and instruction courses at various State, National and International conferences like MP State Conference, Andhra Pradesh State Ophthalmic Conference, Delhi Ophthalmological Society Conference, All India Ophthalmological Conference, Uvea Society of India Conference and World ROP Congress, Indian ARMD Congress. He is author/co-author of papers published in national and international journals. He gave lectures as a guest speaker at CMEs organized at various cities in the country including Indore, Gwalior, Delhi, Ratlam, Jaipur, Chennai, Visakhapatnam.

He holds membership of Indore Divisional Ophthalmic Society (IDOS), All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS), Vitreoretinal Society of India (VRSI), Uvea Society of India (USI) and Delhi Ophthalmological Society (DOS).
